Purdue Polytechnic High School athletics

At Purdue Polytechnic High School, we strive to have a comprehensive athletics program that supports the growth and development of our student athletes into champions on the field, scholars in the classroom, and citizens in the community.

PPHS Athletics Philosophy:

At Purdue Polytechnic High School, we believe interscholastic athletics are an extension of the educational experience and an important part of the development of our students. Participation in athletics provides opportunities for students to develop discipline, resilience, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and a commitment to something larger than themselves.

Our athletic programs are built around three fundamental commitments:

Champions on
the Field

We believe in competing with purpose and pursuing excellence. Our student-athletes are expected to prepare, compete, and represent Purdue Polytechnic High School with effort, integrity, sportsmanship, and pride. Success is measured not only by wins and championships, but also by improvement, perseverance, teamwork, and the way we compete.

Scholars in the Classroom

Student-athletes are students first. Athletics should reinforce the habits necessary for academic success, including preparation, accountability, time management, persistence, and goal setting. Coaches and athletic staff share responsibility for supporting students as they work toward graduation and prepare for college, careers, and life beyond PPHS.

Citizens in the Community

Representing PPHS extends beyond the classroom and the playing field. We expect our student-athletes to demonstrate respect, responsibility, service, and leadership within our school and throughout the community. Athletics should help students understand that being part of a team also means being part of a larger community.
