PPHS Englewood Cheer Squad Celebrates McKinley School 39 Cheerleaders' Hurricane Relief Efforts
PPHS Englewood Cheer Squad and McKinley School 39 Cheerleaders pose together after an inspiring day of teamwork and celebration.
INDIANAPOLIS - On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, The Purdue Polytechnic High School (PPHS) Englewood Cheer Squad recently partnered with William McKinley School 39 to honor the impressive community leadership demonstrated by their cheerleaders.
The McKinley Cheer Squad, led by sponsor Kaylen Rodgers, organized a school-wide hurricane relief drive to support individuals affected by storms in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. With the support of their school community, they collected over 300 essential items, showcasing the power of service and collaboration.
To celebrate their achievements, the PPHS Englewood Cheer Squad, led by Coach Terrionna King, visited McKinley School 39 for a day filled with cheers, routines, and excitement. The high school squad surprised the elementary cheerleaders with a special cheer performance, taught them a new cheer, and offered tips about cheering routines. The McKinley students, in return, proudly showcased their own routines, demonstrating their school spirit and leadership.
“Coach King’s leadership and dedication truly brought this event to life,” shared PPHS Englewood Principal Jacob Pactor. “Her ability to connect with students and encourage teamwork created an unforgettable experience for both schools.”
PPHS Chief of School Operations, Shatoya Ward, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration:
“At PPHS, we believe in empowering students to make meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond. Celebrating the McKinley Cheer Squad’s dedication to helping those in need perfectly aligns with our mission to inspire service and leadership in every student.”
PPHS Englewood Principal Jacob Pactor echoed this sentiment:
“This event highlights the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders. The McKinley Cheerleaders exemplified what it means to combine school pride with a commitment to creating a brighter future for others.”
The event concluded with a group photo, capturing the shared pride and camaraderie between the two schools. This special day not only celebrated the McKinley Cheer Squad’s outstanding hurricane relief efforts but also reinforced PPHS’s mission to encourage students to invest in their communities—both locally and globally.
PPHS is proud to support young leaders and looks forward to future opportunities for collaboration with schools like McKinley to empower the next generation.
