A PURDUE POLYTECHNIC HIGH SCHOOL

Student Experience

Your Day, Your Way at PPHS Broad Ripple

Broad Ripple

At PPHS Broad Ripple, every student’s day is built around their goals and the knowledge and skills they need to get there. That might mean starting the morning in an engineering lab, heading off to a community internship, meeting 1:1 with a coach, or pitching a business idea in a passion project.

Some students are earning college credit. Others are exploring what lights them up. Many are doing both. And that’s by design.

At Broad Ripple, your schedule connects what you’re doing now to what you’ll need next, preparing you for both college-level courses and for a future high-wage career.

A Day in the Life: Amari

A Day in the Life:
Amari

Amari has been at PPHS since freshman year. Over time, he discovered a passion for storytelling, writing, and marketing and found ways to turn that passion into purpose.

Advisory
During advisory, Amari checks in with his coach and then meets with the college and career coach to share updates on his internship. He’s currently helping a local community center write and publish their monthly newsletter.

Passion Project
Amari chose a project that focuses on the parts of history that are often left out of textbooks. His group is researching lesser-known events and building digital timelines to help bring those stories to light.

Lunch
Over lunch, Amari and a few classmates talk through edits for the newsletter and brainstorm ideas for the next issue. His friends offer to help gather photos and student quotes.

Internship
In the afternoon, Amari heads to the community center. He reviews feedback on his latest newsletter draft and interviews a few staff members for next month’s edition. He’s also learning how to frame content, take photos, and manage deadlines, skills that are preparing him for future career options.
