Our Academic Model

Real Learning. Real Credit. Real Impact.

At Purdue Polytechnic High School, students earn full credit for every required course, just like at any traditional high school. The difference is in how they learn.

We are excited to offer AP and dual-credit classes. We also know real learning goes far beyond a test. That is why we combine academic excellence with meaningful, hands-on experiences that help students connect what they learn in class to real life.

Our model is not just about passing exams. It is about preparing students to succeed in college, careers, and their communities.

Learning That Matters

Every course at PPHS is designed around state standards. Students learn core content in math, science, English, and social studies. What makes it different is that they apply what they learn through real projects.

For example:

  • In Geometry, students explore area and slope by designing and building a wheelchair-accessible ramp for a local community member.

  • In Government, students learn about the legislative process by visiting the statehouse and speaking directly with lawmakers about issues they care about.

These kinds of experiences help students understand concepts more deeply and remember them longer.

Projects with Purpose

Throughout the year, students participate in cross-subject Passion Projects, hands-on, collaborative experiences designed to develop skills in writing, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Many of these projects are built in partnership with local industries, nonprofits, and community leaders, giving students the chance to tackle real challenges and make meaningful connections beyond the classroom.

Students:

  • Research real problems

  • Work in teams

  • Build and test solutions

  • Present their work to experts and community members

Yes, students still receive grades and complete assignments but at PPHS, their learning has real meaning.

Every project, every lesson, and every challenge helps build confidence, spark creativity, and shape a clear path toward college, careers, and a future they’re excited about.
